It says it pulls 1800W but using the kill-a-watt meter it only pulls 1225W. It was the cheapest one so can't complain but the description should be amended. When you hit the hand button to actually power it on, not the on/off button, it says 518° F. This is the high setting and yes, induction is fast, so whatever you put on it will heat up fast. Better than both my hot plates. They only pull 860-880W. Just use a wet rag to clean and you are good to go.
