Great part, fraction of the cost from local suppliers
Appears to be an exact replica of the OEM for a fraction of the cost from local appliance repair houses. In fact, had one local shop, who had the part in stock (for $85.00), tell me there was no way the $15.00 part I was looking at online could be the correct part - that this was only a GE product. I ordered it from eBay against their suggestion and it was exactly the correct part AND, had a longer pigtail, so was EASIER to replace! very inexpensive replacement part for oven
The connector on the oven ignitor was a perfect fit for my oven. While I did have to pull the oven out to swap this part in, it was an instant fix and allowed me to make a frozen pizza as soon as it was completed. Previously the oven was not igniting properly, sometimes leading to long waits for it to get up to temp. I understand that the igniter wearing out can cause other problems but this was the situation in my case. The price was about 66% lower than comparable parts and even lower than that compared to the manufacturer. the item was extremely similar in design and just worked. The connector on the oven ignitor was a perfect fit for my oven. While I did have to pull the oven out to swap this part in, it was an instant fix and allowed me to make a frozen pizza as soon as it was completed. Previously the oven was not igniting properly, sometimes leading to long waits for it to get up to temp. I understand that the igniter wearing out can cause other problems but this was the situation in my case. Item was as advertised but only 4 stars as the wire nuts were WAY too big and had to get new ones from the local hardware store. Additionally, I had to take the new element out of its mount and install it in the old mount. Not a problem, just had to go to Youtube to find out I had the right part but needed to reuse the old mount. For the DIY Handy Person with a Maytag 6775 Series Range
First I'll say that it works perfectly. This igniter was installed on a Maytag 6775 Range for the lower oven, After troubleshooting via YouTube and various websites, I found the part number and ordered it. Remember to unplug oven and turn off gas line #1. The connector is different on this replacement but they send you the ceramic wire caps. I don't know if all 6775 series ranges have the same plastic connector, but my range had a smaller one. I saved the original connector and wiring, and used the ceramic caps to connect the new igniter. Since I had wire strippers, it took about 1 minute. #2. It took longer to removed the oven door, racks, bottom panel, oven burner tube and brackets to access the old igniter. Actual installation of the new igniter took about 2 minutes, and ... First I'll say that it works perfectly. This igniter was installed on a Maytag 6775 Range for the lower oven, After troubleshooting via YouTube and various websites, I found the part number and ordered it.
