Good price, swift delivery
I found this the best price on the web for the same parts being sold at an exorbitant price by the manufacturer. I did a complete refurbishment of the bearings, the felts and the nylon runners. My 10-year-old dryer is working perfectly now. I previously had to replace the motor but I can’t see changing out the unit unless the electronics completely fry them selves. Even then I can probably get the parts. Take the opportunity of dismantling your drier to remove all lint. Decent kit for the price, but lacking some small important details.
If you've determined your dryer bearing needs replaced, and you've searched ebay by part number chances are you found this kit. This kit does indeed contain the bearing you need as well as an assortment of other relevant parts. Most likely you only need the bearing though. It's a shame nobody just sells that piece individually. Nonetheless this kit is not, in my opinion, a complete kit for two reasons. The main reason being, it doesn't come with an O-ring! The O-ring is really important because it's what keeps the bearing from sliding off of the shaft and damaging itself again. Most likely if your bearing has failed, so has your O-ring. Secondly, the plate that gets attached to the rear of the dryer comes with screws, but the screw holes in the plate itself are not threaded! I ... GEDryer Drum Rear Bearing Sleeve Kit
The nylon sleeve was short by the thickness of a washer, 3/32" stainless and there was no retainer o ring sent with it. The original o ring had broken. I went to the local Golders Auto store and purchased two o rings for $ 1.00. They fit perfectly. I bought two in case I damaged one during assembly. The old sleeve was taller than the new one hence the addition of the washer plus the Golder Auto o ring. I really needed only those two parts, but I used all the new kit parts during the reassembly anyway. The reassembly went very well, didn't damage the first o ring, so I have a spare. After reassembly, had no screws left over, that is a good thing. The best part of all is the dryer operates like new, very smooth, no noise, efficient as before. Analogue , older dryers last longest
My dryer is approximately 36 years old. Making noise. I purchased the rear bearing, slides, new pulley and belt. Works like new again . I did the install myself in about 3 hours. I did think of having it repaired BUT , some doof wanted to charge me almost $750.00 for the repair. ANYBODY with two hands and a few simple tools can tackle this. This job cost about $47.00 with all the parts. Very happy to know anyone can handle a simple repair . I also fixed my gas stove.
